Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to us at Braid Flooring
Ltd. We are committed to maintaining the confidentiality, security
and accuracy of your personal information. This Privacy Policy
describes the personal information that Braid Flooring Ltd. collects
in the normal course, how we use it and to whom that information
may be disclosed. Like other organizations, we are subject to
the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents
Act (''PIPEDA'').
Our privacy policy is set out below.
1. Personal information is any factual
or subjective information, recorded or not, by which you can be
identified.
2. We collect personal information only
for the purposes of supplying goods and services to you, collecting
payment of accounts, informing you of product care, new products,
sales and special events and, where applicable, registering you
for a supplier's warranty and inspecting goods and services supplied.
The personal information which we collect includes your name,
address, telephone number, cellular number, facsimile number and
email address, goods and services related information, your intention
to acquire goods or services from us, your views and opinions
about those goods and services, your credit and financial information
such as billing and credit history or payment history and customer
relationship information.
3. We collect personal information only
by fair and lawful means. We collect personal information directly
from you, starting from our very first contact. However, we also
gather information with your permission from your employer and
your financial institution.
4. We will seek your consent at the time
we collect your personal information or after collection but prior
to our use or disclosure of your personal information. We will
assume, unless you advise us otherwise, that having received a
copy of this Privacy Policy and by continuing to deal with us,
you have consented to the collection, use and disclosure of your
personal information as explained in this Privacy Policy. You
may change or withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal
or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice, by contacting
our Privacy Officer set out below.
5. We use or disclose your personal information
where you have consented, where we are required by law to do so,
where we reasonably believe there is an imminent risk to an identifiable
individual of serious harm or death, where the information is
already publicly known, where we are collecting payment of accounts,
where we engage a third party to assist us in providing you with
goods and services or to provide us with administrative services
(for example computer backup services or archival file storage)
or to assist us in collecting accounts and such third party is
bound by our privacy policy and, if applicable, where we make
a warranty registration with a supplier and that supplier is bound
by our privacy policy.
6. We do not disclose personal information
to any third party to enable that third party to market its products
and services.
7. We will only collect information required
to achieve the above purposes, and will maintain the information
only for the time needed to fulfill those purposes or as required
by law. Our normal practice is to destroy files a minimum of 7
years after goods and services have been supplied, although certain
information may be retained longer.
8. It is important that the personal
information we hold about you is accurate, complete and up-to-date.
We ask that you keep us informed of any changes to your personal
information during the course of our relationship.
9. We will endeavour to safeguard personal
information using methods that are appropriate to the sensitivity
of the information.
10. You are entitled to access your personal
information and to review, verify or correct your personal information.
If you wish to do so, please contact our Privacy Officer in writing
using the contact information set out below.
11. When you make a request to access
your personal information, we may require specific information
from you to confirm your identity and right to access, as well
as to search for and provide you with, the personal information
we hold about you. If you need help in preparing your request,
please contact our Privacy Officer.
12. It may not be possible to provide
you with access to your personal information where it has been
destroyed, where access would impact on other people's privacy,
where it is prohibitively costly to provide or where denial of
access is required or authorized by law. If we deny access to
your personal information, we will provide reasons.
13. We will assume, unless you advise
us otherwise, that this Privacy Policy is acceptable to you and
that by continuing your relationship with us you have consented
to our collection, use and disclosure of your personal information
as explained in this Privacy Policy.
14. We may, from time to time, make changes
to this Privacy Policy. Any changes will be posted on our website
at: www.braidflooring.com.
